Midstate Tool & Supply, Inc. was founded in the early 1960’s by the late Richard Halbritter. Mr. Halbritter manufactured his own autobody filler and pioneered the autobody distribution in central Pennsylvania. In 1968, Barry J. Halbritter, current President, joined his father and developed a comprehensive program of inventory expansion and warehouse sales distribution. In 1977, Robert K. Halbritter joined the family owned company as Executive Vice President and National Sales Manager, beginning a methodical and intensive program of national distribution.

Midstate Tool & Supply, Inc. inventories over 130,000 items of professional tools, autobody supplies and equipment from more than 335 United States based leading brand manufacturers in its 115,000 square foot warehouse and office facility.

Since its incorporation in 1977, this warehouse distribution of automotive and industrial hand and power tools, equipment and autobody supplies, Midstate Tool & Supply, Inc. has progressed from a regional distributor to a national and international marketing company, servicing the automotive jobber, hardware dealer, industrial supplier, marine supplier and corporate franchised mobile tool warehouses. A diverse and strong economical base has been developed that has provided the ability to gain market share facets of distribution.

In 1980, Barry and Rob introduced Jobber Highlights which presented a pictorial summary of Midstate's special sale items and newly introduced products. This quarterly tabloid became a welcomed buyers guide to the wholesale jobbers and was a major factor contributing to the rapid growth of Midstate Tool & Supply, Inc. as a national distributor.

Many other "pull-through-sale" tabloids, Shop Highlights and Professionals Choice were developed and customized to Midstate’s customers’ retail aftermarkets assisting them in "selling before buying". 800 national customer service lines, state of the art computers and graphics, modern warehouse facilities, and an education and training facility continued to place Midstate Tool & Supply, Inc. in a leadership role.

The company holds an annual trade show and exhibition featuring over 230 manufacturers who actively provide a "hands on", "try before buying" forum for both jobbers and their tradesmen customers.
